This track is a new take on an old kind of love song. It's a song about true love – a promise to love someone as long as you’re still above ground. But it's not about the infatuation of new love. It's about desperate, weathered love. The kind of commitment you make to another person when you are experiencing the worst years of your life. And even if you can't promise them anything else, you just promise to never leave them alone.
The track was produced/engineered/mixed by Ben VanderHart (Telemonster's frontman) and mastered by Grammy-award-winning producer Alan Douches (Sufjan Stevens, Kurt Vile, Animal Collective.)
lyrics
Mother Mary, comfort me
Even at the reaper’s feet
Even when I’m almost dead
Stretch out your hand and hold my head
A gentleman’ll understand
Being sentimental makes a man
Baby, you can take my hand
I’ll carry you, my legs be damned
You and I’ve no headroom
You and I have bled
We’ll crawl into our bedroom
And fall into our bed
We are both indebted
Living in the red
Baby, to my credit
I’ll love you ‘til I’m dead
Anywhere you lay your head
I’ll be there to make my bed
Even when you’re underground
I’ll lay my body six feet down
A gentleman’ll understand
Being sentimental makes a man
Baby, you can take my hand
Take all of me, take all you can
You and I’ve no headroom
You and I have bled
We’ll crawl into our bedroom
And fall into our bed
We are both indebted
Living in the red
Baby, to my credit
I’ll love you ‘til I’m dead
If we bleed out, let’s stay in love
If we burn out, let’s stay in love
If we scream out, let’s stay in love
If we’re turned out, let’s stay in love
If we’re found out, let’s stay in love
If we eek out, let’s stay in love
If we’re drowned out, let’s stay in love
If we freak out, let’s stay in love
If we give out, let’s stay in love
If we go out, let’s stay in love
If we burn out, let’s stay in love
If we bleed out, let’s stay in love
If we bleed out, let’s stay in love
If we bleed out, let’s stay in love
If we bleed out, let’s stay in love
If we bleed out, let’s stay in love

Over the last 6 years, the band Telemonster has produced 11 kids and 1 record. These days their music comes from this
particular place in life – a place where you carry toddlers more than guitar cases; where you play hide ’n’ seek more than you play shows; where music is made from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am because everyone else has gone to bed....more
